Dr Salwan Jajawi
Dr Jajawi completed his training in psychiatry in the UK and has been working to date, in mental health services in Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, South Yorkshire and Dublin, Ireland. He has worked as a General Adult Consultant Psychiatrist in both the NHS and the private sector. He is a member of The Royal College of Psychiatrists, an Approved Doctor under section 12 (2) of the Mental Health Act 1983 and a Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) Assessor.
Within his area of expertise, he is interested in training, assessing and appraising medical students. His area of interest and specialisation is in the management and treatment of all aspects of mental illness. Outpatient Treatment. Diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of mental illnesses including: Depression Bipolar illness/manic depressive illness Anxiety and panic disorders Management of phobias, obsessive compulsive neurosis (OCD) Alcohol and drug dependence Personality disorders. Diagnosis and treatment of psychotic illnesses, such as, Schizophrenia, Mania and Delirium Dementia (memory problems) Diagnosis of ADHD/Autism/Spectrum disorders Management of psychological complications of neurological diseases such as Parkinson’s Disease, Huntington’s Chorea, MS, Stroke, Epilepsy Referrals to other professionals for psychological support/CBT/counselling/psychotherapy and NHS mental health teams.
