Dr Adnan Al-Araji

Dr Al-Araji graduated in 1977 from the University of Baghdad and completed his postgraduate training in General Medicine and Neurology in Iraq and the UK. His MRCP (UK) was granted in 1986. His postgraduate neurology training included general neurology, neuro-imaging, clinical neurophysiology, neuro-surgery, rehabilitation medicine, intensive care, neuro-ophthalmology, neuro-psychiatry and research methodology.

Dr Al-Araji has gained thorough experience in the management of a wide variety of neurological conditions during more than twenty years experience as a Consultant Neurologist and Clinical Academic. He continued his career in Neurology as a visiting Associate Professor of Neurology, at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada, up to his appointment as Consultant Neurologist at the University Hospital of North Staffordshire in 2004. In his current post as a Consultant Neurologist at the regional neuroscience centre in Stoke on Trent, Dr Al-Araji’s duties include general neurology and specialised out-patients clinics, on call duties for acute neurology take and a minimum of two ward rounds per week for in-patients. Dr Al-Araji has special interest in inflammatory and demyelinating neurological conditions. His other duties also include teaching and supervising undergraduates of Keele Medical School during their neurology placement and postgraduate general medicine and neurology trainees.
