Dr Anna Markham is a Forensic Psychologist specialising in the assessment and treatment of children and their families.  Her work involves the assessment of complex developmental and attachment trauma and how this contributes to severe behavioural difficulty and offending in children and adolescents.  She has specialist training and experience in working with adolescents at risk of offending and sexually harmful behaviours.

She works between Forensic Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services and Youth Offending Services where she works extensively with hard to reach families.  She undertakes multi-systemic interventions with families and has studied the outcomes of these interventions and a family’s capacity for change.

She has published on youth violence and specialises in the assessment of young people who are at risk or offend sexually.  She works therapeutically with juvenile risk using a broad range of psychological approaches including multisystemic therapy and non-violent resistance.   She works extensively with children presenting an autistic spectrum conditions analysing the contribution to any behavioural difficulties or risk.

Dr Markham also works independently, giving evidence to the courts and tribunals about high-risk families, child behaviour difficulties and youth offending.
