Dr Irene Broadley-Westerduin

Dr Broadley-Westerduin has over 30 years of experience of working with children, adults and families as a researcher, teacher, educational psychologist and therapist.  She regularly undertakes expert witness reports for the Criminal, Civil and Family Courts and in Mental Health Act Tribunals.

Her doctoral research and clinical experience in neuroscience has qualified her to assess the cognitive, social and psychological impact of medical negligence, accidents and illnesses.  She lectures in a broad range of issues on educational psychology, neuropsychology and developmental disorders.

She has published extensively on children with neurodevelopmental difficulties and learning difficulties, specifically downs syndrome.  She has worked with children with special needs in the UK and Kenya.  She has also advised on educational strategies to support children in Japan and Turkey.
