Dr Philippa Hodson
Dr Philippa Hodson is an HCPC registered Clinical Neuropsychologist specialising in acquired brain injury and neurorehabilitation. She is a chartered member of the British Psychological Society (BPS) and Division of Neuropsychology (DON). Dr Hodson is on the BPS specialist register of clinical Neuropsychologists (SCRN), the gold standard for Clinical Psychologists practicing in Neuropsychology. Being on the SCRN is a quality mark for high level expertise and skill in working clinically in Neuropsychology, evidencing high-level training and supervised practice in the field. Dr Hodson is highly experienced in assessing and formulating complex neuropsychological issues, including cognitive, psychological and neurobehavioural difficulties. She is highly skilled in administering and interpreting comprehensive cognitive assessments. She uses these, alongside assessments of mood and behaviour, to guide rehabilitation recommendations, give opinions on the extent of cognitive difficulties post brain injury and which factors may be contributing to the cognitive profile and opinions on the impact a cognitive profile may have on a wide range of issues such as daily functioning, neurobehavioural difficulties and challenging behaviour, and psychosocial functioning.
Outside of expert witness work, Dr Hodson works clinically in an NHS stroke service and delivers neuro-rehab and psychological support to people with TBI and other acquired brain injuries. She is experienced in working with complex neurobehavioural issues and completed the BILD Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) coaches course. Dr Hodson also works in partnership with the NHS and University of Bristol as a clinical tutor on the MSc in Neuropsychology.
