Dr Rebecca Clark-Dowd
Dr Rebecca Clark-Dowd has experience preparing multiple psychological assessments to inform the Family and Civil Courts. She provides psychological assessment to inform matters of risk, ability to parent, intellectual and personality factors contributing to understanding of behaviour and likelihood of change as well as ability to work with professionals. She is knowledgeable in areas related to cognitive functioning and capacity.
Through substantial clinical experience delivering psychological assessment and therapy, Dr Clark-Dowd has a special interest in women’s health and mental health and in particular relationships: She is frequently instructed to comment upon ability of parents to protect/prioritise the needs of children within the context of domestically violent or problematic relationships as well as ability to remain separated over time.
Dr Clark-Dowd has extensive experience and training in the delivery of psychometric testing to inform her assessments; in particular the use of personality assessment to inform prediction regarding future behaviour. She also has a special interest in health-related functioning, including medically unexplained symptomology.
She also has extensive experience delivering complex psychological therapies and intervention with patients and staff across a range of health and mental health conditions.
