Dr Angela Kent
Dr Angela Kent is an experienced Clinical Psychologist, having qualified in 1997. She is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and chartered with the British Psychological Society. She has extensive clinical experience in the NHS and independent practice providing assessment and treatment for complex mental health conditions across the lifespan.
Dr Kent has worked in highly specialist services across both adult and older adult mental health. She is an integrative therapist drawing from a range of therapeutic modalities such as schema focussed therapy (SCT), psychodynamic therapy, eye movement desensitisation reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Compassion Focussed Therapy (CFT). Over the past twenty six years she has delivered these evidence-based therapies within community-based, outpatient, NHS staff support settings as well as in her independent practice.
Dr Kent has acted as an ‘expert witness’ to the Courts mainly in relation to the psychological effects of road traffic accidents, medical negligence, capacity and eviction for almost twenty years. She has experience of assessing more complex clients who have histories of trauma/ mental health difficulties as well as current significant stressors.
