Dr Charlotte Piper
Dr Charlotte Piper is a HCPC-registered Clinical Psychologist with experience across forensic, neurodevelopmental, and early intervention in psychosis services. She has worked in both NHS and independent settings, including secure forensic environments, probation services, and specialist neurodevelopmental assessment roles.
Dr Piper specialises in the psychological assessment of adults and young people presenting with complex emotional, behavioural, and relational difficulties. Her areas of expertise include personality disorder, psychosis, neurodivergence (ADHD and autism), and substance misuse. She is skilled in delivering trauma-informed, formulation-led assessments that inform legal decision-making, care planning, and therapeutic intervention.
Her forensic experience includes working within Psychologically Informed Planned Environments (PIPE) in probation settings, where she provides clinical leadership, supervision, and consultation. She has conducted risk assessments using structured professional judgement tools (e.g. HCR-20, RSVP), and has contributed to psychologically-informed risk management strategies for individuals with histories of violence, substance misuse, and offending behaviour.
Dr Piper also undertakes neurodevelopmental assessments for ADHD and autism, including post-diagnostic therapeutic work. She is trained in the Autism Diagnostic Interview-Revised (ADI-R) and CBT for ADHD, and integrates neuroaffirmative principles into her practice.
