Dr Giulia Bellesi
Dr Bellesi is a Consultant Clinical Neuropsychologist, registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). She is a Chartered Member of the British Psychological Society (BPS), a full member of the Division of Clinical Neuropsychology, and listed on the UK Specialist Register of Clinical Neuropsychologists (SRCN), recognised as the gold standard for neuropsychology practice in the UK.
Her clinical expertise centres on working with individuals with traumatic and other forms of acquired brain injury, as well as a wide range of neurological conditions including epilepsy, brain tumours, multiple sclerosis, encephalitis, and various forms of dementia. She provides specialist neuropsychological assessment using a broad range of psychometric tools, to evaluate the effects of neurological illness on cognitive functioning and emotional wellbeing, support diagnosis, monitor change, and/or inform care planning. Additionally, she provides evidence-based neurorehabilitation and psychotherapeutic interventions, delivered one-on-one or as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Dr Bellesi has held several NHS posts, and since 2024 has been employed by Cleveland Clinic London, where she runs an outpatient neuropsychological assessment and treatment clinic. Since 2019, she has also worked in independent practice with individuals who have sustained brain injuries and are pursuing personal injury claims. Additionally, since 2020, she has been a Special Medical Visitor to the Office of the Public Guardian and the Court of Protection, regularly conducting independent mental capacity assessments to support them in their roles.
A core aspect of her work across all roles is the preparation of high-quality reports for various purposes, including treatment planning, rehabilitation, and informing legal proceedings. She is committed to providing clear, independent opinions in line with her responsibilities to the court and have completed Bond Solon training on expert witness report writing.
Alongside her clinical practice, Dr Bellesi lectures on neuropsychology-related topics and has published several articles in academic journals, focusing on brain injury, cognitive difficulties, and their impact on behaviour and daily functioning.
